Good condition WWI US military Winchester Model 1897 trench gun pump action 12 gauge shotgun. This appears to be an original trench gun and is serial number 677xxx, which is in the correct range. 20” barrel is marked “CYL” and does not have a hole where a front sight bead would have been installed. The bayonet adaptor/heat shield is unmarked and may be a reproduction.

Gun does not have any “US” or “flaming bomb” markings, which would be correct for WWI Winchester Model 1897 trench guns. Original blue finish is mostly worn to brown and gray patinas. Bore is fine and bright. Stock has original finish and shows some wear and handling marks. Buttstock has original sling swivel. Both sides of heel have a crack. A very hard to find original WWI era Winchester Model 1897 Trench shotgun.
